Description |
This 3d illustration was completed as part of a design proposal for a new retail location with an LED signage component. The image is a photo-montage utilizing specific 3d elements and the photography of Forrest Hughes.
The backplate photography, due to its super wide angle was a bit challenging.
Forrest did a great job taking multiple shots so we could stitch them together later – to fake a super wide angle with no distortion.
The final backplate was stitched together from a total of 10 different photos.
All 3d items in the scene were modeled, textured, and lit by kk. The photography was taken by Forrest Hughes.

Once the backplate was created, the camera was matched accordingly. There are actually three different cameras used to accommodate the stitched together backplate.
The main building, sidewalk, and LED signage was modeled in 3d as well as the brick building and signage to the right. It was recreated in 3d because the building had scaffolding on the entire facade.
