The following illustrations show the designs for a few of the in-store retail spaces within the new El Palacio de Hierro shopping complex located in Villahermosa, Mexico.
The shopping complex, or mall, will house higher-end retailers. Some of the images I completed for TPG include stores for the following: win, housewares, watches, handbags, throw pillows, and mattresses.
The illustrations I am showcasing are for the housewares (Blancos), the mattress store (Colchones), and the throw pillow store (Thro). These are the spaces that were a bit more developed at the time.
All items in the scenes, except for some of the products, were modeled by kk. All items in the scenes were textured, and lit by kk.
This 3d illustration showcases the design for Blancos, a homeware store. The store has multiple entry points defined by the dark grey soffit, which also serves as the check-out (p.o.s.).
The space contains typical freestanding gondolas as well as larger built-in shelving. The main focal point is ceiling mounted water feature.
Colchones is a small bedding and mattress store located inside the shopping complex.
The noticeable design feature is the lit ceiling. The ceiling, with fileted corners, is created with a combination of fiber optics and reflective paint. The overall idea is to mimic a starry evening sky.
Items on sale include: mattresses, headboards, and bedding.
Thro is a small store that sells throw pillows, blankets, and home decor items.
This design represents a typical “stall” or “pop-up” location within the shopping complex.
